Citizens Family Vacation
Every year we get away for a weekend as a church family to pause, rest, make memories, and seek the Lord together. This is one of the key moments in the year for us as a church, as we connect as a church family, spend intentional times of prayer and rest, and take a break from the hustle of everyday life. Every year, we find folks return from the retreat with deepened friendships, passion for the Lord, and an eagerness to see God’s Kingdom come in our city. We’d love for you to join us.

2025 THEME - “REVIVAL”
Throughout the Scriptures, we read of miraculous stories of God bringing revival and renewal to individuals, churches, cities, and nations. We are a church with the desire to see revival come again in our city and in our lives. The cry of the ancient prophet Habakkuk is still our cry today — to see the fame and deeds of God renewed and known in our time (Habakkuk 3:2). We will spend the weekend learning from various revival stories throughout the Scriptures, leaning into the postures and practices of revival.

Who is invited to Family Vacation?
Family vacation is open to all Citizens Church members, members-in-progress (have taken membership class), and children of current members.
Where will we sleep?
We will be staying in the Main Lodge on the property, in hotel style rooms.
What if I can’t afford it?
We totally understand that for various reasons, the cost for the trip might not be possible. We don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone attending. If you would like more information about a scholarship for the weekend, please email Tim.
In addition, if you are able and would like to help go above and beyond in generosity to help pay for someone else to go, you can reach out to Dan as well.
What all does my registration fee cover?
The registration cost covers 2 nights of lodging, breakfast and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday, resources for the weekend, and some exclusive new Citizens Church swag. Transportation to and from Hickory, Friday dinner and Saturday lunch, and any other activities are not covered.
What do I do with my kids? Is this trip reasonable for families?
We totally understand involving kids in a weekend like this might come with a unique set of difficulties, so we’ve done everything in our power to help make it the weekend not only manageable, but enjoyable. We believe kids are a vital part of our church, and shouldn’t be a barrier to you attending this incredible weekend with your church family.
If you have specific family or children related questions about the retreat, please reach out to Jess Cromwell.
Will we make it back in time for the Sunday Gathering?
Because we believe in this weekend so much, we are actually cancelling our regular Sunday Gathering on May 18th. This will free up all of our church members to be able to attend the weekend, and emphasize the high priority Family Vacation has on our church calendar.
Any other questions about the weekend? Email Tim.
