Intercessory Prayer

“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

  • John 17:20-21

There are things God has purposed He will not do unless His people pray. So the invitation for us, is to come to our Heavenly Father, bringing our requests - but not just for ourselves - for others.

Praying for others is a consistent theme within the Scriptures. It is a way we serve, love, and give ourselves for other believers through a necessary and faithful work. We worship a God who can stir the hearts of kings, who can toss mountains into the sea, and holds the earth on its axis - which means we have both a privilege and a responsibility to draw near to him in prayer for the needs of those around us.
