We are calling 2026 “The Year of Scripture and Service”. We want to dive into God’s Word then move into our city with good deeds. We’ve created this page to help you dive into God’s Word this year.
The Scriptures are not just ancient words on a page—they are the living and active Word of God, His ongoing speech to His people. When we open the Bible, we step into God’s presence, hear the voice of the Spirit, and are shaped into the likeness of Christ.
In 2026, we are inviting our entire church into a shared journey through the whole story of Scripture. Our reading plan covers the entire Bible in one year, structured across five days each week, with weekends reserved for reflection, catch-up, and the Weekly Examen. Old Testament readings are arranged chronologically, and the Gospels are spread throughout the year to continually return us to the life and teachings of Jesus.
To accompany our reading plan, we’ve created a Scripture Journal to help you read and reflect while on this journey. The journal includes daily space to write, guided weekend meditations, weekly memory verses, and guides for reading through methods like H.E.A.R. and Lectio Divina. There will be a guide for each season of our church, both available in print form at the Gathering and online as a PDF.
The Bible in a Year journey integrates with The Citizens Institute, our discipleship program designed to further form people who live with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. If you’d like to journey deeper over the course of the next year, we’d love for you to participate in one or both of the core classes.
